Fɛlei is the Government of Sierra Leone’s platform for innovation and entrepreneurship: programmes that put founders in front of real problems, a national fund to back them, and a 130-acre city in Bo to grow them.

Who we are
Fɛlei is where Sierra Leone’s founders, communities, investors and government meet to solve real problems.
We are not a real estate project. We are a national platform, led by the Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation, that connects talent, capital and policy. We run programmes on the ground today, we are building a national innovation investment fund, and we are developing the 130-acre Special Economic Zone for Technology in Bo District as the place where it all comes together.

Six ways we work.

Community Solvathons
Two-day sessions where residents, innovators and technical experts define a local problem together and co-design a solution ready to pilot. Bo in April, Kroo Bay in August.

Founder community
TIE2 Meetups take conversations about building a business, from MVPs to fundraising, into the districts. Makeni was June’s edition.

Investment readiness
SMIRA, the Sierra Leone Market & Investment Readiness Accelerator, prepares startups for market entry and investment with training, mentorship and investor introductions.

Innovation Investment Fund
The Sierra Leone Innovation Investment Fund aims to mobilise $150 million over five years, blending public, private and development capital to back enterprises that scale.

The Tech City
130 acres at Jombohun, Tikonko Chiefdom, Bo District: a Special Economic Zone for Technology with a BPO hub, labs, homes, a school and a medical centre already under way.
