Fɛlei TechCity is a groundbreaking project aimed at positioning Sierra Leone as a key player in West Africa’s digital landscape. With an initial investment of $150 million, this state-of-the-art technology hub will be a catalyst for job creation, technological advancement, and economic diversification, contributing an estimated 10% to the country’s GDP over the next decade.

The vision of Fɛlei TechCity is to create a sustainable and inclusive urban environment that fosters innovation, attracts global investment, and provides opportunities for Sierra Leoneans. 

The “Fɛlei” city was officially unveiled by His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio during the 2024 Sierra Leone Innovates Tech Summit

Tech City is a hub for innovators, researchers, tech enthusiasts, venture capitalists, and startups, designed to promote collaboration and innovation in Sierra Leone. 

The Fɛlei TechCity  will sit on 130 acres in Jombuhun community, Tikonko Village, Bo District. 

The word “Fɛlei” is a mende word that means, “Fana” in Krio
To create the “fana” you weave different strands together to create a platform to sieve through to get the best seeds to germinate and grow. This is the symbolism of the tech city. A home where different ecosystems of innovators converge, where ideas will be nurtured and scaled up to competitive businesses.

The Fɛlei TechCity will have a business processing & outsourcing centre with state-of-the-art office spaces, research labs, coworking spaces, educational institutions, industrial hubs, healthcare facilities, and residential areas.

Yes, various funding and investment opportunities will be available for startups and companies to scale up their ideas into marketable products.
